Recently, Shawna-Kae Burns had a brief stint of Twitter fame for some comments she made on a televised entertainment show. We talk about this, relationships and culture on this week’s episode ….as she set’s he record straight and I throw in some unfiltered commentary in a Moment Of Clarity. 

Shawna-Kae Burns is a member of the Faculty in the Social Work Unit at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Language Linguistics and Society with a Minor in Cultural Studies; which she got at the University of the West Indies. She also holds a Masters of Social Work  with a Specialisation in Children and Families which she got from The University of Texas at Arlington. For the last several years she has been involved in several workshops dealing with critical themes of self care, stress and conflict management and team building. Her most recent involvement centres around research within a gender and masculinity studies framework and how popular culture affects the youth, the impact of social action theatre on national development and an exploration of gendered parenting practices within Jamaica. She is a self proclaimed lover of all things Jamaican ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous and believes that amongst our creativity and talent Jamaicans are some of the most beautiful people in the world.
